Hotfix Information
A supported fix
is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem
that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are
experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing.
Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft
recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server service
pack that contains this hotfix.

After you apply this hotfix, you must enable it
through Registry Editor. To do so, follow these steps.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
- Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\POP3SVC\Parameters
- On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value: Value name:
UseSmtpProxyFQDNForOWAUrl

- Quit Registry Editor.
