XADM: A Complex WebDAV Query May Not Work with Exchange 2000 (327997)

SYMPTOMS

If a complex Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) query is issued, a 0x80550024 (-2141913052) error may occur. The Exchange 2000 information store may log the following warning message:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1025
Description:
An error occurred on database "<database_name>".
Function name or description of problem: Restrict/SetSearchCriteria
Error: 0x80004005 Warning: fail to apply search optimization to folder (FID 1-1B79) Retrying without optimization.

CAUSE

Exchange 2000 uses more than one method to query the database internally. This problem may occur if the method that Exchange 2000 chooses does not work because too many tables are referenced at the same time.

RESOLUTION
