SYMPTOMS

You cannot unpackage a presentation. You insert the floppy disk in the disk drive and then click OK in the Unpacking dialog box, but PowerPoint does not unpackage the file. Instead, it prompts you to insert the next disk.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Create a folder to hold the presentation files. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after each line.

      c:
      cd \
      md MyPresentation

  2. For each floppy disk that contains your presentation, follow these steps:
    1. Insert the disk in your floppy disk drive (typically, drive A:).
    2. At the command prompt, type the following (where drive is the drive letter of your floppy disk drive), and then press ENTER:

      copy drive:\*.* c:\mypresentation\*.*

  3. To unpackage and run your presentation, type the following at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

    c:\mypresentation\pngsetup.exe

When you are prompted to insert the next disk, click OK.
  4. When PowerPoint prompts you to run the slide show now, click Yes.
