Error Message When You Quit Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 Service Pack 1 Setup (327959)

SYMPTOMS

If you cancel the Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 Service Pack 1 installation, you may receive the following error message:
Service Pack 1 (SP1) Setup requires 5 MB of disk space on the drive containing the Program Files directory.
Delete unnecessary files to free up disk space, and then run SP1 Setup again.

RESOLUTION

Make sure that there is a minimum of 5 megabytes (MB) of free disk space on the drive that contains the Program Files folder. Note that you need approximately 170 MB total free disk space for the service pack installation. If the target path has more than 5 MB of free space, you can safely ignore the error message.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
