SYMPTOMS
When SQL Server publishes to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition (SQL Server CE) subscribers, the Merge Agent may fail and you receive the following error message:
The specified index already exists.
The error message occurs after SQL Server applies a combination of schema changes and article changes (such as
Add or
Drop) to the publication and a later execution of the Merge Agent tries to propagate these schema changes to the SQL Server CE subscribers.
