PPT2000: Hyperlinks to Other Slides Do Not Work Correctly After You Insert the Slides into Another Presentation (327916)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
This article was previously published under Q327916 SYMPTOMS
If you have slides that contain hyperlinks to other slides in your presentation, and you insert those slides into a second presentation, the hyperlinks no longer link to the correct slides.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the file header information for the slides that contains the hyperlinks is lost when the slides are inserted into another presentation. The file header contains the information that is required for the hyperlinks to work correctly.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, reverse the process. Insert the slides from the presentation that does not have hyperlinks into the presentation that contains the hyperlinks. This prevents the loss of the file header information.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
