Money 2002: Error Message: The Managed Software Installer Failed to Install the Program Associated with This File (327900)

When you try to download and import an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) statement from your financial institution by using Microsoft Money, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
The managed software installer failed to install the program associated with this file. Please contact your system administrator.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the OFX (*.ofx) file association is incorrect or corrupted.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, reassociate the OFX file type to Microsoft Money Import Handler. To do this, follow these steps:
Part 1: Delete the OFX File Type- Click Start, and then click My Computer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.
- In the list of file types, click Open Financial Exchange File, and then click Delete.
- When you are prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
Part 2: Associate the OFX File Type with Microsoft Money Import Handler- Click Start, and then click Search.
- Click All files and folders.
- In the All or part of the file name box, type *.ofx, and then click Search.
- If one or more .ofx files are found, go to step 5.
If no file is found, follow these steps:- Visit your financial institution Web site, and then download the OFX file again.
- When you are prompted, click Save.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3.
- Double-click the most recently modified .ofx file in the results list.
- In the Open With dialog box, click Microsoft Money Import Handler, and then click OK.
- Start Money.
A message appears that states that an online file was received.
