PRB: Cannot Roll Back Project from Source Server (327774)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Site Server 3.0

This article was previously published under Q327774

SYMPTOMS

When you try to roll back a successfully deployed project on a source server that contains only remote end point servers, you receive the following error message:
Could not rollback Project. No rollback information found.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because, to roll back, you must do so at each server for each project that you want to roll back. The source server has no control over this.

RESOLUTION

Workaround

To work around this behavior, use the CRS command line to remotely roll back the project. The command line syntax is CRS project name /server server name. If the command line prompts you for additional parameters or flags, type CRS Help Rollback for more information.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

A content deployment project in your source server (ServerA) that successfully deploys to the end point server (ServerB) cannot roll back successfully if you do the rollback from ServerA. You can roll back the project on ServerB. You can only roll back projects on the server where the roll back is intended. The same behavior occurs on the Site Server Service Admin Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or HTML.
