SYMPTOMS
If you try to install Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) either from the Web or the SBS 2000 SP1 CD, you may receive the following error message when you run the SBSSetup.exe utility:
X\SP1Setup.EXE is not a valid Windows NT application.
where
X is the drive letter and path to the folder to which the service pack files were extracted.
NOTE: You receive this error message only on SBS 4.0 or 4.5 servers.
When you run the UpdateSBS.msi utility either from the SBS 2000 SP1 CD or the Web, you may receive the following error messages:
To install Small Business Server Service Pack 1 run SP1Setup.exe
When you click
OK, you receive the following error message:
Unsuccessful Installation
An error occurred while installing the Service Pack. Rerun this wizard.
To close this wizard, click Finish.
If you run the Update.exe utility either from the SBS 2000 SP1 CD or the Web, you may receive the following error message:
The procedure entry point SetSecurityDescriptorControl could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll.
