CDO does not create an all day event that spans daylight time correctly; fix requires Exchange 2000 SP3 (327639)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server SP3

This article was previously published under Q327639

SYMPTOMS

If you use Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) version 1.21 to create an all day event that spans the daylight time boundary, the event may not be created correctly.

In Microsoft Outlook, the event may not be marked as an all day event. The start time and the end time are also listed as a date and time, instead of being listed as just the date.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because CDO does not compensate for the variation in the length of a day at the daylight time boundary.
