SYMPTOMS
Systems Management Server (SMS) Software Metering may not be installed on a member server in a domain that uses password with a minimum of eight characters. When this problem occurs, you receive the following error message:
Could not determine if the user account name has admin privilege.
This problem may occur even if the user account has administrative
permissions on the local computer.

Hotfix Information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
