SYMPTOMS

Systems Management Server (SMS) Software Metering may not be installed on a member server in a domain that uses password with a minimum of eight characters. When this problem occurs, you receive the following error message:
Could not determine if the user account name has admin privilege.
This problem may occur even if the user account has administrative permissions on the local computer.

CAUSE

A temporary account is created to verify whether sufficient permissions are available to the user account that is used by License Server Manager. When the temporary account is created, if the password that is provided is shorter than the password that is required by the Domain Security policy, the installation does not succeed.
