INFO: MSDE Database Update Process for Application Center 2000 (327614)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Application Center 2000
This article was previously published under Q327614 SUMMARY
Application Center 2000 installs a named instance of SQL Server 2000 Desktop Edition (MSDE). The MSDE instance is named MSAC.
Application Center 2000 installs the MSAC database as a merged module. Therefore, SQL Server 2000 service packs do not recognize the MSAC database and cannot update it. Service packs for the MSAC database are delivered through Application Center 2000 service packs. For example, Application Center 2000 Service Pack 1 installs SQL Server 2000 Desktop Edition Service Pack 1 onto the MSAC database.
MORE INFORMATION
Before you apply SQL Server 2000 hotfixes, verify that you have installed the required SQL Server 2000 service packs.
