SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following error message when you use Microsoft Outlook:
There is not enough space on the Microsoft Exchange Server to store all of your rules. The rules that failed to upload have been deactivated.


When you view your rules in the Rules Wizard, the rules are still selected. The rules appear to be active. You do not know which rules have been deactivated.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Outlook 2000 that contains this hotfix.

After you apply this hotfix, the deactivated rules are not selected in the Rules Wizard. This hotfix mimics the functionality of Outlook 2002.
