When you try to install Exchange Server 5.5 on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer (to join an Exchange Server 5.5 site), you may receive the following error message:
Setup Error - Overlapped I/0 error.
Processing File Server\Setup\I386\Server\Server.uns @ or near line 208
When you click OK, you receive the following error message, and Setup does not continue:
Overlapped I/O operation in progress.
NT Error Code 0xc00203e5
CAUSE
This issue occurs if the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks feature is not installed on the computer running Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then run Setup again. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network and Dial-Up Connections, right-click the network connection that is used by Exchange Server, and then click Properties.
- Click Install, click Services, and then click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.
