Antivirus programs may contribute to file backlogs in SMS 2.0 and in SMS 2003 (327453)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
This article was previously published under Q327453 SUMMARY Certain antivirus programs may contribute to file
backlogs in the following directories: - The SMS\Inboxes directory on Microsoft Systems Management Server
(SMS) site servers.
- The SMS_CCM\ServiceData directory on Microsoft SMS Management Points.
These file backlogs lead to the appearance that SMS is not running correctly, even though
Component Status and Site System Status report no errors or warnings. Additionally, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms: - Package or advertisement status does not update.
- Hardware or
software inventory is not accurate.
- The overall response of the site
server is slower than expected.
This behavior is more likely to occur if the antivirus program is configured for Real-Time monitoring.
