OL2002: Broken Parser for Italy Phone Numbers in Outlook Contacts (327317)

This article was previously published under Q327317 SYMPTOMS When you edit a phone number for a contact in Italy or
Vatican City, the country code and area code are incorrectly parsed as being
part of the local phone number and an extra country code +39 is appended in
front of the telephone number. The following is an example of
incorrectly parsed numbers: 3 digit area code/7 digit local phone:
(051) 2095701 (valid number in Bologna, Italy) 4 digit area code/6 digit
local phone: (0444) 221111 (valid number in Vicenza, Italy) This update was first included in Office XP Service Pack 3.
