"JScript Runtime" Error Message When You Connect to Microsoft Operations Manager Console Through Internet Explorer (327028)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to access the Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 console through Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
URL = http://localhost/OnePointOperations/DefaultReal.asp Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a138f' Object expected /OnePointOperations/defaultReal.asp, line 4

RESOLUTION

To troubleshoot this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Services Manager, or open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that contains the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) snap-in.
  2. Expand * ServerName, where ServerName is the name of the server.
  3. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Properties.
  4. In the Properties dialog box, click the Home Directory tab, and then click Configuration (at the lower-right).
  5. In the Application Configuration dialog box that appears, click the App Options tab, and then make sure that the Enable session state check box is selected.
NOTE: For the console to connect, you may still have to recycle the IIS services on the server.
