This article was previously published under Q326955

SYMPTOMS

After you deploy a hotfix to Esent.dll either directly or from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site, your Czech, Slovak, and Turkish installations may show a program problem in Services.exe (event 1000).

This also occurs when these languages are used with Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI).

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a string localization in Scesrv.dll is incorrect.

WORKAROUND

If you are using MUI, remove the Scesrv.mui.dll file in the %SystemRoot%\Mui\Fallback\Your language ID folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
