PRB: Catalog Fault Tolerance: GetCatalog API Returns Error When the Clustered Resource Is Changed (326756)

SYMPTOMS

When you browse a Web site you may receive one of the following error messages:
Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Description:MSDTC on server 'SYSFT-SQL' is unavailable
-or-
Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Description:New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator.

CAUSE

If you try to perform a Move Group process on a computer that is running SQL Server in a cluster, and there is a Failover in progress, it takes some time for the Failover to complete. If you try to browse the Web site during these processes, you may receive one of the error messages that is described in the "Symptoms" section.

WORKAROUND

Wait until the Failover completes, and then refresh the page.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
