BUG: "Open With" Shell Command Broken with Visual J# .NET Installed (326710)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Visual J# .NET, if you right-click a Visual J++ solution (.sln) file, click Open with, and then select Visual J++, the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET IDE starts instead.

RESOLUTION

To open a Visual J++ project file after you install Visual J# .NET, you must manually start Visual J++, and then open the project from inside the IDE. You can either click Open on the File menu or use a drag-and-drop operation on the .sln file on the IDE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
