SYMPTOMS

After you finish a Site Reset and change the SMS Service Account Password, the International Client Pack 4 ( ICP4) version numbers contained in the registry are changed. For example, the values of the following registry keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup\Full version = 2.00.1493.3500

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup\Full UI version = 2.00.1493.3500

are changed to the following values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup\Full version = 2.00.1493.3010

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup\Full UI version = 2.00.1493.3010

This change in the registry permits the installation of non-ICP hotfixes on ICP sites. Installing non-ICP hotfixes on IPC sites can cause Site server instability.
