SYMPTOMS

If your Pocket PC device is connected to a network by an Ethernet card while a connection is established with ActiveSync, you may not be able to connect to some resources. Microsoft Internet Explorer may return the "Page not found" error.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Establish a connection to a network, and then do not use ActiveSync.
  2. Confirm the connectivity to the network.
  3. Establish the ActiveSync connection.

    The result is you cannot connect to the Internet although you would expect to be able to continue browsing.
