SYMPTOMS
When you try to test a map in the BizTalk Mapper by using a
generated XML instance, you may receive the following error message:
The XSL transformation that uses the test-instance
document for the source specification failed.
Reason: Microsoft VBScript
runtime error
Subscript out of range: '9'
Line = 38, col = 4 (line is
offset from the start of the script block).
Error returned from property
or method call.
This problem can occur when you use multiple
concatenation functoids. It can also occur when you use the cumulative
concatenation functoids.
RESOLUTION
Service Pack Information
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002. For additional information,

Hotfix Information
A supported fix is now available from
Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in
this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific

this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following
table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal
time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time.
To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Workaround
To avoid this problem, do not use the
Generated XML to
XML option in the BizTalk Mapper. Instead, use actual test data.
