OFFXP: The Clip Organizer Does Not Function as Expected (326494)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start the Clip Organizer, either by clicking Clip Organizer in the task pane of an Office XP program or by running the Mstores.exe file, one of the following symptoms may occur:
  • The Clip Organizer link does not appear in the task pane of the Office XP program.
  • The Clip Organizer does not open.
  • You receive the following error message:
    The ordinal 312 could not be located in the dynamic link library oleaut32.dll.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you run Microsoft Windows 2000, and Windows contains a mismatched or damaged Oleaut32.dll file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2). SP2 updates the Oleaut32.dll file during installation. To obtain Windows 2000 SP2, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
