The Cluster Service Detects RPC Errors 1726 and 1722 (326330)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP1
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3
This article was previously published under Q326330 SYMPTOMS The Cluster service may detect Remote Procedure Call (RPC) errors 1726 and 1722. The Cluster service uses RPC communications for various
purposes such as Global Update Manager (GUM) updates and replicating event
messages. This error occurs on Xeon multiprocessor computers. RESOLUTIONService Pack InformationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.MORE INFORMATION If the Cluster service detects RPC error 1726 while it is
performing a GumSendUpdate operation, it sends a "poison" packet to the node
that did not update GUM. The following message is recorded in the cluster log
