Update: June 19, 2002 on a computer where the Thai-language version of
Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1) is installed, you may notice that you
cannot open existing Excel files when you double-click the files. For example,
when you double-click an .xls file, Excel starts as expected, but the file does
not open. CAUSEThis problem may occur if you apply the Excel 2002 Update:
June 19, 2002 to the Thai-language version of Office XP SP-1 on a computer that
is configured to use Thai-language settings. RESOLUTIONA
supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to
computers that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this
problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a

attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and
times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you
view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the
difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab
in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, open the file after you start
Excel. To do so:
- Start Excel.
- On the File menu, click
Open.
- In the Open dialog box, locate the file
that you want to open, and then click Open.
