You cannot modify a personal address book contact in Outlook 98 and in Exchange 5.5 (325985)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
- Microsoft Outlook 98
This article was previously published under Q325985 SYMPTOMS When you try to modify a contact in your personal address book (PAB), you cannot modify the contact. You may also receive the following error message:
One or more changes you made could not be saved. The action could not be completed. CAUSE This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You are using Microsoft Outlook 98 as your e-mail client.
- You are using a messaging profile that contains a PAB with Internet mail addresses.
- Your Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox has been moved from one Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 site to a different site.
- The old site information is replicated to the new site.
This problem occurs because Outlook 98 uses some cached information from the original Exchange Server site when it looks up the address template to use for the PAB entry. Because the cached entry has incorrect site information, the contact cannot be modified.
