IntelliMouse: Windows Solitaire Game Does Not Start, or Card Has Shadows or Trails (325974)

After you install Microsoft IntelliPoint software, version 4.0 or Microsoft IntelliPoint, version 4.01, the Solitaire game may not start, or it may not function correctly.
Unexpected behavior may include shadows or trails of cards that you drag while you play Solitaire.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, quit IntelliPoint before you start Solitaire, and then restart IntelliPoint when you finish playing Solitaire. To do this, follow these steps:
- In the notification area in the far right of the taskbar, right-click the IntelliPoint icon. The IntelliPoint icon is a silver and white globe. When you put the mouse pointer over the icon for several seconds, you receive an identification message that says, "IntelliPoint," (without the quotation marks).
- Click Close IntelliPoint.
- Start Solitaire, and then play the game as you typically play.
- When you finish playing Solitaire, click Start, point to Programs, and then click Microsoft Mouse to restart IntelliPoint.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
