The EIF provides a structured technique and set of guidelines that you can use to implement Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project Professional to meet the enterprise project management needs of your organization. The EIF is not intended for IT professionals but instead for the Project Management office or other senior project managers who decide how the system is to be used for enterprise project management.

Both names refer to the set of documents that you can download from this location.

The EIF contains a complete Microsoft Project plan that guides you through the process of gathering system requirements, designing your Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project Professional implementation, piloting this implementation, training users, and rolling out the system. It also contains other informational documents and check lists to help you in your implementation, including the following:

• A complete list of interview questions for gathering requirements.
• A Red Flags document that helps you identify issues that may compromise your implementation.
• Instructions for translating your business requirements into specific feature usage and product settings.
• A Microsoft Excel workbook that you can use to record the detailed design of your system.

NOTE: The EIF is not a substitute for a formal implementation team. It is critical to a successful implementation that the implementation team have the appropriate level of technical and project management experience and expertise.
