MacWDX: Document Window Appears Behind the Word Toolbars (325951)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Word X document, the Word toolbars may appear in front of the document window.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the Word Settings (10) file is corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Word.
  2. In the Finder, open the following folder:

    Hard disk:Users:user name:Library:Preferences:Microsoft

  3. Drag the Word Settings (10) file to your desktop, and then into the Trash.
  4. Close the hard disk folders, and then start Word.

    A new Word Settings (10) file is created in the Microsoft Preferences folder.
