XADM: CDOEX Always Saves a Copy of Sent Messages to the Sent Items Folder (325729)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

This article was previously published under Q325729

SYMPTOMS

If you send an e-mail message by using Collaboration Data Objects for Exchange 2000 (CDOEX), a copy of the message is saved to the Sent Items folder regardless of the SaveSentItems parameter that you use.

CAUSE

By design, Exchange 2000 always saves messages to the Sent Items folder. The Exchange OLE DB provider (ExOLEDB), which is located in the Microsoft Exchange Information Store, is hard-coded to save a copy of all sent messages in the Sent Items folder.
