WD2002: Word Always Displays the Drawing Gridlines (325723)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Word, Word displays the drawing gridlines.

RESOLUTION

To hide the drawing gridlines, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click to select Drawing.
  2. On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and then click Grid.
  3. In the Drawing Grid dialog box, click to clear the Display gridlines on screen check box, and then click Default.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to change the default settings for the gridlines.

    Word saves the changes in the registry and applies the settings to all new documents that you create. Word stores this setting in the Settings key in the following location:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Data

  5. Click OK to close the Drawing Grid dialog box.
