AutoCalculate feature is working even if that feature is turned off (325703)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the color scheme for your display or you have your Group Policy updated, the AutoCalculate feature in Microsoft Excel 2002 Japanese Edition starts, even though you have turned off the AutoCalculate feature in Excel 2002 .

Note This problem occurs only with the Japanese version of Microsoft Excel 2002.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Excel does not correctly handle a Microsoft Windows "WM_SETINGCHANGE" message that is issued when you change the color scheme for the display or when the Group Policy is updated.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

This problem is corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
