Additional Issues That Are Fixed by Office XP SP-2
Additionally, the issues in this section are also fixed by Office
XP SP-2.
Delegates Can Copy Private Items From Your Inbox to Their Local Inbox and View Them
If you assign a delegate to your Inbox, that delegate can copy
Calendar items that are stored and marked as private in your Inbox to their own
Inbox. The delegate can view these private items after they are copied to their
Inbox.
When You Use a Microsoft MSN Hotmail Account, Large Messages Are Not Sent and You Are Not Notified
If you use a Hotmail account with Outlook 2002 to send a large
message, the message is not sent because of size restrictions, and you do not
receive a notification that the message was not sent.
Data Is Lost When You Send a Digitally Signed Message by Using a Rich Text Format (RTF)
When you copy bitmaps to the body of a digitally signed message
in RTF format, the bitmap is lost when the message is sent.
The olFormatPlain Property Causes the Message Body to Remain Blank
If
you use the
olFormatPlain property with a Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) account,
the message body may appear blank.
You Can Only Send Encrypted Messages When Your MAPI Provider Uses Microsoft Exchange Server or a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) Address
When you use a MAPI provider that does not use Exchange Server or
SMTP addresses, but does provide SMTP proxies, you still cannot send encrypted
messages.
Rules Are Not Applied When You Send Messages with an Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) Account
If you use Outlook with an IMAP account and you create a rule to
be applied when a message is sent, the rule is not applied when you send a
message.
You May Unexpectedly Delete a Public Folder When You Delete a Favorites Folder
When you add a public folder to your Favorites folder in Outlook,
delete that Favorites folder, and then repeat the process of adding the public
folder to your Favorites folder and deleting it a second time, the original
public folder may be deleted and not just the Favorite folder that you created.
When you add a public folder to your Favorites folder and then delete the
Favorites folder, but you do not repeat the process, the original public folder
is left intact.
Custom Public Folder Views That Are Created in Microsoft Outlook 2000 Are Not Maintained in Outlook 2002
If you create Custom Public Folder views in Outlook 2000, they
are not maintained in Outlook 2002. When you view Custom Public Folder views in
Outlook 2002, the view is modified and you must re-create it. This only occurs
in Public Folder views on forms that contain user defined keyword fields.
Application_Startup() Event is Not Invoked if "Tip of the Day" is Shown at Startup
The Application_Startup() event is not invoked if the Office
Assistant "Tip of the Day" is shown at startup.
Incorrect Free/Busy Status When Meetings Overlap
When you schedule a meeting, the free/busy status of one or more
invited individuals may not appear correctly on the
Scheduling tab. Invited individuals may have a meeting marked Out of Office
and have an overlapping meeting marked as either Busy, Tentative, or Free.
However, the individual's free/busy status during this time period may not send
an Out of Office message, but incorrectly reports the time as Busy, Tentative,
or Free, depending on the status of the other overlapping meeting.
Outlook E-mail Rules May Not Work As Expected
If you configure Outlook 2002 to send or receive messages when
you start the program, and you set up a rule that is applied to all incoming
messages, the rule is not applied to some incoming messages when you start
Outlook 2002. This only occurs when you are using Outlook 2002 with a POP3/SMTP
e-mail account, and when Outlook is starting and trying to download new
messages from the POP3/SMTP e-mail accounts at the same time.
