Session Summary

The objective of this session is to introduce the basics (and the architecture) of executing SQLXML queries in Microsoft .NET applications by using SQLXML Managed Classes. Code examples will be presented to illustrate how to execute different types of SQLXML queries (including FOR XML AUTO, Templates, Updategrams, DiffGrams, XPath queries against annotated mapping schemas, and applying an XSLT transformation to the result generated by executing a SQLXML query) by using Managed Classes.

Your familiarity with the topics addressed in the WebCasts presented on November 6, 2001 (New Features in XML for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Web Release 2) and June 6, 2002 (Programming ADO SQLXML to Execute SQLXML Queries) is strongly encouraged.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded July 31, 2002 and presented by Karthik Ravindran. Karthik Ravindran is a Developer Support Professional in the XML Web Database team, and is currently the PSS Product lead for the MSXML and the .NET Framework XML Processors. He holds a Master's degree in Information Technology, and the MCSD and MCP+SB (Site Builder) certifications.
