You cannot access attachments that are in signed e-mail messages with the OpenAttach call (325412)

SUMMARY

If you digitally sign an e-mail message, the OpenAttach call in Microsoft Outlook 2000 does not work, and you receive the following error message:
0x80070005 (MAPI_NO_ACCESS)

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the OpenAttach call was not designed to work in secure e-mail messages because named properties are lost during the SMime conversion.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
