Indexing Service Query Returns Incomplete Results with Turkish Regional Settings (325333)

SYMPTOMS

You perform a search by using the Indexing Service MMC snap-in in Computer Management. The "Indexing Service Query Form" is displayed. If your regional settings are set to Turkish on a non-Turkish version of Windows 2000, fewer hits may be returned.

CAUSE

Case-insensitive string compares in Turkish do not match the lowercase letter i with the uppercase letter I.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
