Session Summary



During this Support WebCast, we will cover the different ways that you can submit queries to SQL Server, and the plan caching associated to each of them. We will discuss the plan caching mechanism in SQL Server, its merits and its flaws. We will also talk about techniques to improve plan caching for database queries, and explain the options that you can use to avoid poor plan caching.

This is a Level 300 session that was recorded May 1, 2001 and presented by Sajal Dam. Sajal Dam is an Application Development Consultant. He has been with Microsoft for about three years working with Premier customers to help tune their Web and WinDNA applications for both performance and scalability. He also conducts SQL Server performance tuning workshops for Premier customers. Sajal earned his Masters degree from Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India.
