CAUSE
This problem may occur if a MAPI-Public-Folder Active Directory object is set to not receive inheritable permissions from its parent object.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- If you have not already installed the Microsoft Windows 2000 Support Tools, do so now.
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Windows 2000 Support Tools, and then click ADSI Edit.
- Expand Configuration Container, expand CN=Services, expand CN=Microsoft Exchange, expand CN=Org Name, expand CN=Admin Group, and then expand CN=Folder Hierarchies.
- In the right pane, right-click CN=Public Folders, and then click Properties.
- On the Security tab, click to select the Allow inheritable permissions to propagate to this object check box.
NOTE: Make sure that the Enterprise Administrator account that is being used to set up Exchange 2000 Server has access rights to the MAPI Public Folder tree.
