Session Summary

In this session, we will provide an overview of Managed Extensions for Microsoft Visual C++. We will focus on how Managed Extensions enable Visual C++ developers to participate in the Microsoft .NET Framework. Specifically, this session will look at the benefits provided by Managed Extensions, as well as the unique ability of Visual C++ .NET to continue to work with native code. This will lead into a discussion about the scenarios where using Managed Extensions makes the most sense.

This is a Level 100 session that was recorded November 13, 2001 and presented by Jason Roth. Jason Roth joined Microsoft as a Visual C++ Support Professional in May 1997 and has been focused on Visual C++ 6.0 development for the past four years. He also holds a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer certification. Jason currently works for Product Support Services (PSS) as a Technical Lead for Visual C++.
