SUMMARY

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) addresses the following printing bugs and update scenarios:
  • Gdi32.dll Stops Responding When You Print a Windows Metafile
Gdi32.dll may stop responding (crash) when it accesses a NULL pointer in the ESCAPE() function during the printing of a Windows metafile.
  • When a Printer Name Contains a Script, the Script May Be Executed
This update prevents the execution of scripts that are contained in printer names by replacing the < character in a printer name with an encoded character.
  • UNIDRV Driver Update
This update incorporates improvements from the Microsoft Windows XP UNIDRV driver into that of Windows 2000.
  • A Security Check in the CreatePrinterHandle Function May Inadvertently Give Remote Administrative Permissions
  • SPOOLSS.DLL Leaks Security Token When Loading Multiple Provider Router While Impersonating the Interactive User
A leaked security token prevents the "user logoff" event from occurring when it should, causing the operating system to recognize that user as still logged on.
