BUG: Cannot Close Recurring Appointments (324913)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE for Pocket PC 2002

This article was previously published under Q324913

SYMPTOMS

If you open a recurring appointment that was created in a time zone that differs from the current time zone, when you click Edit and then click OK to try to close the appointment, you receive the following error message (or a similar one):
Cannot save. Select a start time that is after the end of the previous occurrence and end time that is before the start of the next occurrence.
The only way to close the appointment is to change the current time zone first or to reset the device.

RESOLUTION

In some cases, the appointment is viewed in Edit mode to see more details about the appointment or to view strings that do not completely fit on the Summary view. If this data is common to all occurrences, open the whole series instead of the individual occurrence to work around this problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
