Session Summary
The objective of this session is to introduce developers
to some basic features of .NET Framework XML assemblies and how this integrates
with the other key framework components. The key topics that will be covered in
this presentation are:
- Key classes in the System.Xml.Schema and using the SOM
implementation
- Key classes in the System.Xml.Serialization namespace and
their common usage scenarios
The code samples presented in the slides of this presentation
will be written using Visual Basic .NET. The presentation will not cover the
basics of XML and its related technologies (XSLT, Path, DOM, and the concept of
XML parsers and XSD schemas). Audience familiarity with these topics and the
basics of SOAP and XML Web Services will be assumed.

Karthik Ravindran and Karthikeyan Ponnusamy. Karthik Ravindran has been with
Microsoft for more than two years. He is a Developer Support Professional in
the XML Web Database team, and is the PSS MSXML Beta Product Lead. He holds a
masters degree in Information Technology, and the MCSD & MCP+SB (Site
Builder) certifications.
Karthikeyan Ponnusamy has been with
Microsoft for two years. He is a Developer Support Professional in the XML Web
database team, and is currently the PSS Web Database Content Lead. He holds a
masters degree in Engineering, and MCSD certification.
