Analyzer View, you may receive an error message. In
Microsoft Project Server 2002, you may receive an error message that is similar to the
following: Unable to
access the Microsoft Project Portfolio Analyzer OLAP Cube.
Possible
Cause: The cube has not yet been built, or it is currently being generated, or
you do not have permissions to access the cube. In
Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, you may receive an error message that is similar to the
following: Unable to access the Microsoft
Office Project Portfolio Analyzer OLAP cube. The cube may not exist, or you may
not have permissions to access the cube. CAUSE This behavior may occur if any of the following conditions are
true:

Manager.
- The Office Web Components tool is not connected to the OLAP
cube.
- If your Portfolio Analyzer tries to connect to an OLAP Cube
that no longer exists.
- You do not have permissions to the OLAP cube.
- The
Access data sources across domains option for the security
zone to which the Project sever belongs is disabled.
RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods, as
appropriate to your situation. Note If your Portfolio Analyzer View tries to connect to an OLAP Cube
that no longer exists, you must delete that particular Portfolio Analyzer View,
and then re-create it. Method 1: Add the Windows User Account to the cube in Analysis ManagerNote The Windows User Account contains individuals who create the
Portfolio Analyzer View, but who need permissions to connect to the Analysis
Manager and to the OLAP cube.
- On the server that has Analysis Services installed, click
Start, point to Microsoft SQL Server, point
to Analysis Services, and then click Analysis
Management.
- In the left pane, locate your Analysis Services server, and

Method 2: Install Service Pack 3 for SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2000 Analysis ServicesTo work around this issue, install SQL Analysis Service Pack 3. If
you have Project Server on a distributed configuration, where Project Server
and SQL Analysis Services are on different computers, you must apply SP3 to
update your Decision Support Object for SQL Analysis on your Project Server
computer:
- Download SQL Server 2000 SP3 and SQL Analysis SP3. To do
so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Download the Sql2kasp3.exe and Sql2ksp3.exe
files.
- Double-click the Sql2ksp3.exe file, and then follow the
instructions on the screen.
- In the Installation Folder dialog box,
accept the c:\Sql2ksp3 folder, and then click Finish.
- Click Yes to create the new folder.
- Open the c:\Sql2ksp3 folder.
- Double-click the MSOLAP and
Install folder to install SP3 for SQL Analysis Services, and
then double-click Setup.exe to install SQL Analysis SP3.

Note To determine if you have SQL Server SP3 and SQL Analysis Service
Pack 3, click Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Analysis Services in the Add/Remove Programs tool, and then click
Support Information. The matching versions are 8.00.760.
