SYMPTOMS

If you configure a custom Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that is restricted to taskpad views, the view may intermittently change between the taskpad view and the tree view when you expand containers in the custom MMC.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when the following conditions are true:
  1. You create custom MMC snap-ins for deeply nested organizational units (OUs), and restrict the console mode to User mode-limited access, single window.
  2. You restrict those MMC snap-ins to taskpad views.
  3. You add a task to the custom MMC snap-in to switch to another similarly configured snap-in.
  4. You expand levels in the OU that the snap-in is configured to display.
