The Setup INI Customization Wizard adds quotation marks to properties in Office (324643)

When you open a Setup.ini file that you edited, you may notice the following problem. When you save the file (with the same name or a new name), the advanced properties that you added to the .ini file are changed to a value that is not recognized by the Windows Installer. The Property value appears with quotation marks around it and an extra space. For example:

ENTERPRISE_IMAGE="TRUE " If you try to install Microsoft Office XP with the Setup.ini file that was generated, and if you do not remove the extra spaces, you receive the following error message: Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable. WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, do one of the following.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Office XP listed at the beginning of this article.
