SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Windows 2000 Security Rollup Package 1 (SRP1), you may receive the following error message:
SP2SRP1 Setup Error
The SP2SRP1 F:\SRP1\i386\update\update.inf file is not correct

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you do not have the correct NTFS file system permission for the %Windir%\Inf folder, and Windows 2000 is installed on an NTFS partition.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem, grant the administrators group or account Full Control for the %Windir%\Inf folder.
