SYMPTOMS

If you use the Norton WinDoctor utility in Norton SystemWorks 2000, you may receive a message similar to the following:
Mapisrvr.exe. Cannot access the necessary file Gapi32.dll.

CAUSE

This error message is falsely reported by WinDoctor in most cases. If there are no problems with Windows or any programs, you can safely ignore the message.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps to set WinDoctor to ignore the error message:
  1. When you receive the error message, click Advanced on the View menu.
  2. Right-click the error message, and then click Ignore Selected Problem.
  3. Quit WinDoctor, and then restart WinDoctor.
