You receive an "Application is busy" error message when you install Microsoft Project Server or run the Project Server COM+ Settings tool (324501)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Delete All COM+ Apps in the Microsoft Project Server COM+ Settings tool (PSComplus.exe), or when you install Microsoft Project Server, Setup may stop responding (hang) during the "Configuring ComPlus Components" portion of Setup, and you may receive an error message similar to the following:

This action cannot be completed because the other application is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy application and correct the problem.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if Component Services on your Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer stops responding.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the Windows 2000 Post-Service Pack 2 (SP2) COM+ hotfix rollup package 18.1.

To work around this issue, restart the computer.
