SYMPTOMS

When you use the System Information tool (Msinfo32.exe) to view hardware or components, the hardware or component you view may have a "Not Available" status. For example, this might occur when you try to view the adapter type of your dial-up adapters.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur for either of the following reasons:
  • The component or hardware has not provided Windows Millennium Edition (Me) with the appropriate information about the component or hardware.
  • Windows Me cannot find any information about the component or hardware in the component or hardware.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
